Koshur Keyboard does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Koshur Keyboard is a Kashmiri keyboard for iOS. It works entirely on your device. It has no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no accounts.
iOS custom keyboards can request a permission called Full Access, which is what allows a keyboard to reach the network, share data with its containing app, or read the pasteboard.
Koshur Keyboard does not request Full Access. The keyboard extension runs in the restricted sandbox iOS applies by default, which means it is technically incapable of sending anything off your device. You will never be asked to grant it.
While you are typing with Koshur Keyboard, the keyboard receives your keystrokes — this is inherently how any keyboard works. Koshur Keyboard uses those keystrokes only to insert the corresponding characters into the app you are typing in, and to combine accents and diacritics (for example, typing c then ˇ produces č).
Keystrokes are never recorded, stored, logged, profiled, or transmitted. Nothing is written to disk. When you switch away from the keyboard, nothing about what you typed remains.
The app is built on the open-source GiellaKBD-iOS project and includes these libraries, none of which contact a server:

Earlier releases of this app inherited two dependencies from the upstream project that we did not intend to ship: the Sentry crash-reporting SDK and PahkatClient, a package manager capable of downloading language packages.
Sentry was never initialised — no reporting endpoint was ever configured, and no data was transmitted at any point. PahkatClient was never invoked. Neither, however, should have been in the binary, and an earlier version of this policy stated the app contained no crash-reporting SDK and made no network requests. That statement did not accurately describe the binary.
Both dependencies have been removed entirely, along with the load-time initialisation hook that would have started Sentry had a reporting endpoint been configured. This policy now describes the shipped app accurately. We are sorry for the inaccuracy.
Koshur Keyboard stores your app preferences (such as your chosen settings) using the standard iOS user defaults mechanism. This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Koshur Keyboard is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. It complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by collecting nothing at all.
Because Koshur Keyboard collects no personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete. Uninstalling the app removes its local preferences from your device. This position is consistent with the GDPR, the CCPA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the effective date above will be revised. Any change that affected data handling would also be described in the app's release notes.
